Just a hint at the level of detail in Super Pro K.O. v3’s Platinum Sky City Stadium. I took a bunch of reference shots from San Diego’s Qualcomm’s Stadium last time I attended Comic Con. Between this and New York Comic Con, you may recognize a bunch of stuff in this background to this volume.

Things I love about this spread: The Action Slamson toys, the ticket stubs, even Mr. Info’s “Before the Bell Pre-Show” filming. It’s all in attempt to make this world much more believable than anything I’ve drawn before. I haven’t taken any shortcuts this volume. Details, details, details…

I’m wrapping up this monster volume in a month and I’ve been waiting all year to ink the big main event of this book. It’s been taxing but I’ve found myself growing as an artist this year tackling all sorts of new problems (like more realistic crowds) in Super Pro K.O.! #3. It’s been truly gratifying watching it all come together.

Working on the double page spread from Super Pro K.O.! vol. 3 chapter 12. I’ve been using this 10 x 12 lightbox since I was 14. That’s 15 years I’ve been lightboxin’ on these comix.

I’m pretty happy with my new Super Pro K.O.! banner for the 2014 Comic Con season. Colors by the OG Dan Jackson ! It was time to retire my old one.

This was a from a few weeks back. I spent the night drawing crowds of wrestling fans for Super Pro K.O.! #3 .I’ve been really getting into it and have been thinking of the wrestling merchandise they’d wear, their signs, etc. I think it’ll give the world of SPKO a lot more life and authenticity. Many of those fans have all sorts of random stories in my head.

So I was pretty damn honored to contribute a piece for Ed Piskor ‘s Hip Hop Family Tree v2. I respect Ed so much as a cartoonist and his comic is extremely important, cataloguing the Rise of Hip Hop culture and all. I chose the legendary Kurtis Blow, whose lyrics were just slow enough for me to remember as a kid. Plus he had too much style & charisma. Thanks Ed!

Another panel in page in progress from Super Pro K.O.! #3. Just have to finish the crowd, ring apron, etc. It’s one of my fave page layouts  in the book too.

My first Regular Show cover. Had to show some love for that hardcore gym lifestyle. Also a nod to my work on Super Pro K.O.!
